‘More than 9,000 Afghans returned from Iran, Pakistan in a week’

KABUL (Pajhwok): Over 9,000 Afghans have returned or deported from Pakistan and Iran in the past seven days, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation (MoRR) said on Thursday.

The MoRR on its Twitter handle wrote that 3,627 people accounted for 681 families have been expelled from Pakistan by force and they arrived in Afghanistan via Torkham and Spinboldak crossings.

A total of 9,196 families have returned to Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan from December 14 till 20.

Separately, 5569 people have returned from Iran on their own choice and by force via Islam Qala Port in western Herat province.

According to reports over 500,000 Afghans migrants expelled from Pakistan in the past two months, additionally, Iran and Turkiye also daily expelled thousands of Afghans from their soils.
