1.5 million jirebs usurped land retrieved nationwide: Waseeq

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): After the inception of Commission to Restitute Property and Prevent Usurpation 1.5 jerab (75,000 acres) of state land has been retrieved nationwide, an official said on Monday.

Ihsanullah Waseeq, the ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’ (IEA) general director for disputes affairs, during his address to the officials of the Commission in Charikar, the provincial capital of central Parwan province, said the Commission was incepted 15 months ago.

According to the provincial Information and Cultural Affairs Department, Waseeq said: “We have 1.5 jerebs land retrieved nationwide which was handed over to the land authority, this land had been released from grabbers and was now under the IEA control.”

He said the commission has taken decision regarding 400 jirebs of usurped land as well but the decision has yet to be implemented.

He added in the future when decision regarding the 400 jirebs usurped land is taken the total amount of retrieved land would reach to 1.9 million jirbes nationwide.

In August, Waseeq told reports that the Commission in the past 10 months recovered 7.5 million jirebs land from usurpers nationwide.

Mawlavi Mohammad Rahim Numani, technical advisor of the provincial Commission said that in Parwan 32,248 jirbs land had been identified as usurped in which 13,000 grabbed land had been retrieved.
