Afghanistan clinch T20 series against UAE

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan have edged thrashed the UAE by four wickets in the third match to clinch the T20I series 2-1 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Restricting the UAE to 126, Afghanistan chased down the target for the loss of six wickets with nine balls to spare, according to Gulf Today.

Naveen-Ul Haq wreaked havoc with four scalps to help Afghanistan set up a four-wicket win over the UAE in the last of three-match series on Tuesday.

Naveen and Qais Ahmed shared seven wickets between them as UAE batsmen failed to put up any resistance against the visitors’ disciplined bowling.

Afghanistan were off to a flying start. Openers Hazratullah Zazai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz put on 30 runs to lay down the foundation for a successful chase.

Najibullah Zadran played a breezy innings, smashing 28 off 13 deliveries to all but end the opposition’s hopes of a come-from-behind victory.
