Day-long art exhibition held in Bamyan

BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): The Information and Culture Department in central Bamyan province on Wednesday organized a day-long art exhibition to support artists.

Maulvi Safiullah Raed, director of information and culture, said the show at the Bamyan Culture Center was aimed at encouraging and supporting artists.

The exhibition showcased pieces of calligraphy, painting, miniature and engraving by 42 artists.

Governor Maulvi Abdullah Sarhadi spoke about the importance of the exhibition and said the local administration supported artists and was striving to improve and promote art.

The participants welcomed the holding of such programs and sought more support from relevant departments and partner institutions for artists.

Nader, one of the artists, said that it was important to hold such exhibitions to improve art and support artists.

He asked related institutions and departments to support artists by holding exhibitions and providing them with facilities.
