KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Security forces have rescued a captive and arrested a kidnapper in southern Kandahar province.
Haji Gul Mohammad, 50, had been kidnapped a few days ago by unidentified individuals, the governor’s office said in a statement.
It added the kidnappers had demanded a million afghanis in ransom for the release from his family.
However, he was rescued during an operation by security forces in the Rowani village of Dand district on Wednesday.
Security forces arrested a kidnapper, who would be referred to judicial organs after preliminary investigation, the statement concluded.
