3 children playing with unexploded shell killed in Helmand

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): At least three children have been killed and two others wounded when unexploded ordnance detonated in the Garmser district of southern Helmand province, an official said on Sunday.

Maulvi Mohammad Qasim Riaz, the governor’s spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident happened in Laaki village of the district on Saturday morning.

The said the children had found the unexploded shell and they were playing with it when exploded. He said three children, including a girl, were killed and two others wounded in the blast.

The injured were evacuated to Emergency hospital for medical treatment
