No one has right to use private vehicles as taxis

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Traffic Police Department in Kabul on Monday warned private vehicles against ferrying passengers and said only taxis reserved this right.

The General Department of Traffic Police last year ordered taxi owners to change the color of their vehicles from yellow to turquoise and private cars in urban and suburban lanes to get taxi licenses.

On Monday, the department informed all owners and drivers of private vehicles that after the publication of this notification, they will not be allowed to pick up paassengers on public roads, saying only taxis have the right to transport passengers.

The Department of Traffic wrote that after the notification, if private cars were seen transporting passengers, legal action will be taken against them.
