Child dies, woman injured in Nangarhar roof collapse

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A child lost his life and a woman wounded in a roof collapse incident in the Momand Dara district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Monday.

Sediqullah Qurashi, an official of Information and Culture Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Katakhel village of the district on Sunday.

He said a nine-year-old child was died and a woman injured after the roof a room collapsed due to heavy rainfall.

Two days ago, flash floods destroyed crops on 750 acres of land in Khogyani, Batikot and Sherzad districts of the province.

According to Qureshi, the authorities concerned are in contact with aiding organisations to assist the affected people.
