Haqqani, Qatari deputy FM discus political, economic issues

KABUL (Pajhwok): Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani and Qatari deputy foreign minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani have discussed political and economic issues during a meeting in Kabul, the Ministry of Interior said on Friday.

MoI spokesman Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani said both sides discussed political and economic issues and agreed on further enhancing and continuing bilateral cooperation.

Haqqani welcomed the Qatari government’s emergency assistance for the flood-affected families in Afghanistan.

The Qatari leader said his country would stand by Afghanistan in any situation and hoped Afghanistan would make further progress in political, security and economic fields

The visiting dignitary met yesterday with deputy prime ministers Maulvi Abdul Kabir, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, and Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi and defense minister Maulvi Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid.
