HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Kankor examination or university entrance test for 2024 commenced in 16 provinces on Thursday and will continue for two days, an official said.
Abdul Baqi Haqqani, head of the National Examination Authority (NEA), made the announcement at a ceremony marking the launch of the exam in western Herat province, NEA wrote on its X handle.
Haqqani assured transparency in the exam process and asked candidates to pursue their higher education to contribute to efforts at putting the country on the path to self-sufficiency.
On the other hand, Herat university chancellor Mufti Abdul Ghaffar Abul Hekmat told Pajhwok Afghan News the examinees in Herat had been biometrically verified in all departments and the exam will be taken in two days.
Earlier, NEA had said the 2024 university entrance test will be conducted in five stages and the first stage will be held in Maidan Wardak, Logar, Parwan, Kapisa, Panjshir, Ghazni, Paktika, Paktia, Kunar, Zabul, Bamyan, Samangan, Badghis, Herat, Ghor and Nuristan provinces.
Kabul is included in the second phase and Takhar, Kunduz, Balkh, Jawzjan, Sar-i-Pul, Faryab, Uruzgan, Baghlan, Daikundi and Badakhshan in the third phase.
The fourth round will take place in Nangarhar, Laghman, Khost, Kandahar, Helmand, Farah and Nimroz provinces and miscellaneous exam will be taken in the fifth stage.
