KABUL (Pajhwok): India and South Africa are all set to square off in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the Kensington Oval in Barbados today (Saturday).
The final clash is scheduled to commence at 7:00pm Afghanistan time. This is the first time in the 33-year history of South Africa’s stint with white-ball cricket that the Proteas have entered the final of an ICC tournament.
Aljazeera reported both finalists have been unbeaten in the T20 World Cup 2024. India, South Africa, England and Afghanistan had found their way to the semi-finals.
However, Afghanistan and England were eliminated from the mega tournament in semi-finals. Afghan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz is the highest scorer of the tournament with 281 runs in eight innings.
In the bowling department, Fazal Haq Farooqi is the leading wicket-taker with 17 scalps.
