Iran sends to the gallows 8 prisoners including Afghan

KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran executed eight prisoners condemned to death, including an Afghan and a woman, a human rights group Hangao said on Monday.

In a statement, Hingao said these on death row people were executed in prisons of Karaj and Shiraz on Sunday.

Mahdi Ali Akbari, Daood Barahawi and Sayeed Mohammadpur an Afghan, were sent the gallows on charge of drugs in Qazal Hesar, Karaj. The Afghan has not been identified.

On the other hand, Mansour Tawakali and Hamid Shekasta and a woman were executed in on murder charges in central prison of Shiraz (Adel Abad) on Saturday.

According to Hangao, at the same time three prisoners, Mohsen Ustwari, who was previously sentenced to death for "rape", was executed.

The human rights organization reported that Iran had executed two Afghan citizens on drugs-related charges in Shiraz Central Prison on July 3.
