Canada contributes $2.2m to Afghanistan fund

KABUL (Pajhwok): Canada has announced donating CAD 3 million ($2.2 million) to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Wednesday.

OCHA wrote on X: “OCHA thanks Canada for a new contribution of CAD 3 million (US$2.2 million) to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund for 2024”.

With this additional support, Canada has contributed a total of CAD 15.8 million to the AHF since 2019.

Meanwhile, before this, a number of countries had announced cash assistance to the Afghanistan's humanitarian fund.
