KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has named Indian Ramakrishnan Sridhar as the national team’s new assistant coach for the upcoming one-off Test against New Zealand and the three-match ODI series against South Africa.

The 54-year-old Sridhar has played 35 first-class and 15 List A matches for India in domestic cricket, ACB said in a statement.

Sridhar has been the Indian national team’s fielding coach in more than 300 international matches, including two ICC ODI and two T20I World Cups.

He has also served as spin bowling coach for Kings XI Punjab from 2014 to 2017 in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

From 2008 to 2014, Sridhar also served as India’s National Cricket Academy as an assistant fielding and spin bowling coach.

Sridhar is set to join the national squad in the one-off Test against New Zealand, beginning from September 9 at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground in India.
