MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The implementation of Sharia Law and Islamic Hijjab are the redlines of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) and there would be no compromise on these points with anybody, an official says on Thursday.
Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, acting minister for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, said this during a meeting with government officials, ulemas and tribal elders in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province.
He said: “The implementation of Sharia Law and Islamic Hijjab is our red lines and will not get engaged with anybody on these points.”
“If anyone links links legitimacy with negotiation on Sharia Law and Islamic Hijjab, then for what purpose we fought for 20 years and offered sacrifices.”
He said the IEA was not scared of sanctions; only 4,000 sanctions were imposed on the MPVPV in the past year.
