KABUL (Pajhwok): The Supreme Court says six people, including a woman, have been publically punished after being convicted of various crimes in central Logar and Parwan provinces.
The Supreme Court wrote on its X handle four people were punished after they were convicted of Pacha Bazi (sodomy) by the Syedkhel district’s primary court in Parwan.
It said three of them were lashed 39 times and sentenced to imprisonment while the third one received lashes and sentenced to two years in prison.
Separately, a man and a woman were punished publically in Berki Barak district of Logar after being convicted of moral corruption, the Supreme Court said.
The punishment was carried out by the primary court after approval from the apex court.
Each of the convicts was lashed 39 times and sentenced to three years imprisonment.
Earlier, three people had been punished publically after being convicted of various crimes in southeastern Khost province.
