PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Deputy Foreign Minister Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai says the country's agriculture and livestock sectors have made significant progress and problems in the export of fresh fruits and vegetables will be resolved.
.He made these remarks while addressing a gathering in central Logar province about marketing of domestic products.
Stanakzai said Afghanistan's agriculture and livestock sectors had made giant leaps during the past three years.
He added efforts were underway to solve problems in marketing of agricultural products and fresh fruits of farmers and gardeners.
He continued: “During the export of fresh fruits and vegetables to some neighboring countries, problems sometimes arise, and we have started diplomatic efforts to solve them.”
Meanwhile, Deputy Director of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammad Younis Mohmand called industrial parks essential for the protection of agriculture and livestock products in the country and for delivering them to the market at the right time.
He announced land will be distributed to investors in the industrial park of Mohammad Agha district soon.
On the other hand, the deputy governor of Logar province Maulvi Muhammad Anwar said Logar was an agricultural province and most of its residents were associated with agriculture and livestock.
He said a biggest problem most farmers and gardeners faced was the lack of market for agricultural products and fresh fruits.
He added the provincial administration was striving to address all problems of farmers in the province.
