KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Technical Vocational Institute (ATVI), The Prisons Affairs Management Authority (PAMA), the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the Islamic Bank, the Afghanistan National Bank (ANB) and an NGO have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
The MoU was signed today (Wednesday) here at the Government Media and Information Centre (GMIC) between ATVI acting Head Mawlavi Ghulam Haidar Shahamat and institutions heads.
During the signing ceremony of the MoUs, ATVI head said that according to the agreement signed with the PAMA, the prisoners would be provided with professional and vocational education, so that they could manage their lives during and after their release from prison.
He signed a MoU with the Academy of Sciences in order to strengthen academic relations, scientific, research and training cooperation, to make good use of opportunities, possibilities, capacities and scientific achievements.
He added that the purpose of the agreement signed with the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Ministry of Interior is to provide technical and vocational training for drug addicts.
Mawlavi Shahamat said the purpose of the agreement with the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan was to speed up the work process and provide banking services in a transparent manner in the distribution of the salaries of the employees and teachers of the technical and professional education agency in the center.
The ATVI head said the purpose of the agreement with "Good Life for Afghans" organization was to provide a basis for cooperation between the two parties in the design and implementation of temporary training programs and to reduce poverty by providing professional and vocational work.
Last year, the ATVI had signed cooperation agreements with one government and four private institutions at GMIC.
