KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Deputy Minister of Information and Culture Maulvi Atiqullah Azizi has stressed the need for supporting poets and writers in publishing their writings.
The deputy minister issued the call while addressing a poetry session in northern Kunduz province.
He assured writers and poets the Ministry of Information and Culture (MoIC) would help them publish their poems and scientific works.
He added: “Absolutely, this is the right of poets and writers and our ministry is obliged to publish their poems and scientific writings which benefit the country and its people.”
Meanwhile, a number of poets and writers in the province appreciated the arrangement of the poetry session and welcomed the deputy minister’s assurance of support.
Poet Mohammad Rafiq said: "We are happy with the MoIC initiative. We want the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) to cooperate with us in publishing our poems.”
Shafiqullah, another writer, also asked the officials concerned to cooperate with them in printing their works.
