Afghan Huffaz win 3rd, 4th positions in Türkiye

KABUL (Pajhwok): Two Afghan Huffaz have won third and fourth positions in the recitation and memorization competition of the holy Quran in Türkiye, a statement said on Saturday.

The competition was held in Şanlıurfa city of Turkey. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the last day of the competition and admired the top position holders, the Ministry of Information and Cultural Affairs (MoIC) said in a statement.

This competition is held annually in Turkey with the participation of 50 Islamic countries. This year, Qari Abdul Rab Ayubi got third position in Hasan Qaraat and Qari Shafiq Amini won fourth place in memorizing the Holy Quran.

The competitions is held in two preliminary and final stages, the preliminary stage was conducted in June by sending audio files, and in the recitation and performance stage, representatives from 93 countries were judged in absentia, and finally, 50 countries went to the final stage.
