FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Six people, including children and women, have been killed as a result of a car’s plunge into a river in northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Saturday.
Police spokesman Ehsanullah Kamgar said the accident took place on Friday when the Passo-type vehicle overturned and fell into Kokcha River in the Khwaja Abdul area of Baharak district.
He said six individuals, including two children and three women, lost their lives in the accident, attributed to the car slipping off the road.
The vehicle was pulled out of the river, the police spokesman said, adding efforts were ongoing to find the victims’ bodies.
