KABUL (Pajhwok): The European Union (EU) mission in Afghanistan has condemned the attack on worshippers in the Nahrain district of northern Baghlan province and expressed its condolences to the victims and their families.
On Thursday night, some unidentified gunmen opened fire on worshippers in the Sayed Padshah Shrine in Nahrain district.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News 10 of the worshipers were killed in the attack.
The EU mission wrote on it X: “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families.”
The mission said all communities in Afghanistan should be safe and protected from violence.
A day earlier, the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) also condemned the attack and asked for a thorough investigation.
