Outgoing Iranian envoy pays farewell call on Muttaqi

Kabul (Pajhwok): Outgoing Iranian ambassador in Kabul paid a farewell call on acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi and both sides discussed regional developments and bilateral relations.

MoFA deputy spokesman Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal wrote on X Muttaqi met Iran’s Ambassador Hasan Kazimi Qomi in Kabul. Both sides discussed regional developments and bilateral relations.

According to Takal, Muttaqi praised Kazimi’s efforts during his mission and explained that his ministry was ready to work with new Iranian Ambassador towards expanding bilateral relations.

Meanwhile, Tasnim News Agency reported Iran’s Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Eraqchi has appointed Alireza Bigdeli, the ministry'’s former deputy consular officer, as Iranian ambassador to Kabul, replacing Hasan Kazimi Qomi.
