FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): As many as 350 families in western Ghor province have gained access to clean water with the implementation of a water supply project, officials said on Thursday.
Rural Rehabilitation and Development provincial media office director Zabihullah Ghausizada told Pajhwok Afghan News the water supply network worth over 6.1 million afs was financed by the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF).
With the completion of the water supply network, 350 families of four villages in Taywara district had got access to potable water, Ghausizada said.
The project included the construction of a reservoir with the capacity to store 40 cubic metres of water and a stretch of an over 9,000-metre plumbing network equipped with 145 sinks and installation of 18 solar panels, he explained.
Residents of the villages expressed their pleasure over the project execution, saying the issue of potable water scarcity had been resolved.
