Logar’s Kutub Khel district team wins volleyball title

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A volleyball tournament featuring 24 teams has concluded in central Logar province, with Kutub Khel team emerging victorious.

Engineer Muzammil Naeemzai, Logar Physical Training and Sports Department director, told Pajhwok the week-long competitions were held at the provincial level in Mohammad Agha district.

He said teams of Kutub Khel and Ghazni Khel marched to the final, with the Kutub Khel team emerging champions.

According to him, the event was aimed at promoting volleyball game and enabling players to share experiences, create coordination and combat drug abuse.

On the other hand, Abdul Shukoor, a player, told Pajhwok that for the first time, a winter volleyball competition was held in Mohammad Agha district at the provincial level.

Such competitions could strengthen the experience and relationships between volleyball players, he added.

Previously, the Logar Department of Physical Education and Sports had organized a one-day boxing competition between top 50 athletes at the provincial level.
