MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A 21-tonne shipment of detergent produced by a private company has been exported from northern Balkh province to European countries for the first time.
Ehsanullah Amini, CEO of the Qatra manufacturing company in the northern zone, said that for the first time, 21 tons of detergent worth 30,000 US dollars was exported to London, the capital of England.
Previously, he said, the company’s products were exported to several other countries, including Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Qari Amir Mohammad Muttaqi, the Balkh head of industry and commerce, said the export of Afghan products to foreign countries shows that production capacity and quality had reached a stage where they could compete with global products.
He emphasized the IEA provided comprehensive support to investors across the country.
According to him, businessmen and investors who live outside Afghanistan should come and invest in the country in order to play their role the progress and development of the country and providing job opportunities for the youth.
Since IEA takeover, more than 300 new factories have started operating in the province, providing jobs for thousands of people.
