Learn positive lessons from past history, IEA urges youth

KABUL (Pajhwok): Marking 106th Independence Day, the Islamic Emirate has said this victory was achieved following great sacrifices, struggles and jihad of the Afghan Mujahideen and people.

Islamic Emirate spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid issued a statement saying: “On this day one hundred and six years ago, the Muslim and proud people of Afghanistan, with the help of Allah Almighty, forced the colonial British Empire to accept the full independence of Afghanistan and return the authority of our country’s foreign policy, which was taken away by the British at that time, to the Afghans.”

The statement said this victory was achieved as a result of the sacrifices and struggles of the Afghan Mujahideen, something the Afghan people were still proud of.

After this victory, the statement said, the Afghans achieved successive victories on two other major fronts (against the Soviet Union and then the American occupation), which, thank God, became a great chapter of courage and sacrifice in the history of the Afghans.

It said the defeat of the three great powers of the world in a century was firstly favor of Allah Almighty and then it was the firm determination and courage of the mujahid Afghan people in protecting their religion, beliefs and independence.

The Islamic Emirate said now was the time for the Afghan youth and future generations to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors and always stand with the strongest will and determination against any kind of aggression and occupation, and to learn positive lessons from past history.

“Today, August 19, we celebrate Independence Day, while four days ago we celebrated the Day of Victory and Liberation from the American occupation. This continuous happiness demands continuous gratitude and obedience to Allah Almighty from us, and we must strictly adhere to the holy Sharia and regard every victory as the favor and help of Allah Almighty.”
