Putin, Saudi crown prince agree to expand bilateral cooperation

KABUL (Pajhwok): Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have agreed to deepen cooperation in the political, economic, trade and humanitarian spheres, a media report said on Wednesday.

Putin held a telephone conversation with bin Salman on Tuesday, Reuters reported, citing a statement from the Kremlin.

The two leaders also discussed progress in their joint work within the OPEC+ framework and efforts to maintain stability in global energy markets, it said.

Meanwhile, Saudi state news agency SPA reported that the crown prince and Putin discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.

OPEC+ comprises members of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries along with major non-OPEC oil producers, cooperating to coordinate oil output and stabilise global energy markets.
