Iran offers 14-point plan to end war; Trump reviews proposal

KABUL (Pajhwok): In response to a nine-point proposal from the United States, Iran has presented a 14-point plan centered on achieving a “complete end to the war.” Donald Trump has stated that the proposal will be reviewed soon.

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, the plan was developed as a direct response to Washington’s earlier proposal. While the United States called for a two-month ceasefire, Iran is pushing for a comprehensive resolution that would end the conflict entirely rather than extend a temporary truce.

The proposal includes demands for guarantees against future military action, the withdrawal of US forces from areas surrounding Iran, the release of frozen Iranian assets, the lifting of sanctions, and the payment of war reparations.

It also calls for an end to all hostilities across the region, including in Lebanon, and the establishment of a new framework governing the Strait of Hormuz.

The report adds that Iran is seeking a final settlement within 30 days, underscoring its preference for a definitive end to the war over a limited ceasefire period.

Tasnim notes that Tehran is currently awaiting an official response from the United States. President Trump has said, “We will review the plan that Iran has just sent us very soon,” but expressed skepticism about the prospects of reaching an agreement.
