KABUL (Pajhwok): At least seven people were killed and 18 others, including women and children, wounded in a blast near Naurang police station in the Lakki Marwat district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday, a media report said.
The blast occurred near a rickshaw in Naurang Bazaar in the Sarai Naurang area, Geo News reported.
It said the bodies of seven victims, including two traffic police personnel, were transferred to Naurang Hospital.
Following the incident, an emergency was declared at Sarai Naurang Hospital, the hospital administration confirmed.
Meanwhile, the district police officer said a vehicle was used in the blast and more than one maund of explosive material had been planted in it.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur described the incident as “deeply tragic” and directed police to submit a report on the blast.
