KABUL (Pajhwok): The Prisons Administration Affairs says that 1,191 prisoners, detainees, and other held individuals have been released from prisons across the country following approval by the Supreme Court.
In a statement, the administration said the release process was carried out through a transparent procedure.
It added that the move is intended to allow those released to spend the days of Eid al-Adha with their families, relatives, and friends.
The administration did not provide further details, including the types of offenses or the provinces from which the released individuals were held.
