KABUL (Pajhwok): A Toyota Corolla-type vehicle fell from the road into a river in Parun, the capital of Nuristan province, leaving four people missing in the water and the driver injured.
According to a statement from the Nuristan media office, the incident happened last night in the Jangal Posta area of Parun, the provincial capital, when a “Corolla” vehicle veered off the road and fell into the river.
The source added that four passengers went missing in the water, while the driver was injured.
The statement said the driver is receiving treatment at the police headquarters clinic and his health condition is stable.
According to the statement, efforts are ongoing to find the missing people.
The victims of the incident are residents of Farah province who had travelled to Nuristan for sightseeing.
