KABUL (Pajhwok): Five people were killed and one injured after a mine collapsed in Yunnan province in southwestern China on Sunday, a media report said.
The incident occurred at around 4:30am on Sunday in Huize County, Yunnan province, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.
According to the report, six people were pulled from the debris, but only one survived. The injured individual was transferred to hospital for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.
The incident comes just days after a gas explosion at a coal mine in China’s Shanxi province reportedly left at least 82 people dead, two missing and 128 others injured.
Authorities have not yet released further details on the cause of the latest collapse.
