UNICEF donates $235,000 medical equipment to Nangarhar health facilities

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Public Health says the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has donated medical equipment and supplies worth approximately $235,000 to provincial and district health centres in eastern Nangarhar province.

In a statement, the ministry said the assistance includes ultrasound machines, neonatal care equipment, diarrhoea treatment kits and midwifery kits.

According to the statement, Mawlawi Aminullah Sharif, Director of Public Health in Nangarhar, expressed appreciation for UNICEF’s support and directed relevant officials to distribute the equipment and supplies to hospitals and health centres across the province.

He said the distribution of the equipment would help ensure that patients and visitors receive timely healthcare services.
