KABUL (Pajhwok): According to a Euractiv report, the European Commission has provided Belgian authorities with a list of members of a delegation from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) for a potential visit to Brussels.
The report said the proposed visit would focus on discussions regarding the return of Afghan migrants from Europe to Afghanistan.
Belgian officials stated that security agencies have begun preliminary assessments regarding the possible issuance of visas for the delegation. However, no formal visa application has yet been submitted.
The report further noted that European officials emphasized that engaging in talks with the Islamic Emirate does not amount to formal recognition of its government.
Instead, they described the discussions as a practical step aimed at managing migration issues and facilitating the return of Afghan nationals.
