KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Works and Turkmenistan’s ambassador to Kabul have discussed expanding bilateral economic, trade and transport cooperation, as well as advancing key infrastructure projects.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Public Works, Minister Mullah Mohammad Isa Sani met Turkmen Ambassador Khoja Ovezov in Kabul.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen economic, trade and transport ties, with particular focus on several major infrastructure projects.
Welcoming the ambassador, Minister Sani said Afghanistan and Turkmenistan enjoyed long-standing trade and economic relations and expressed appreciation for Turkmenistan’s continued cooperation.
The meeting also reviewed progress on ongoing railway projects, including the construction of the 10-kilometre Aqina-Andkhoy railway line, the expansion of Torghundi Port and the development of new facilities.
The officials also discussed measures to improve project implementation and enhance transport connectivity between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral economic and trade relations and strengthening cooperation on transport and infrastructure projects.
