KABUL (Pajhwok): Four people, including two women, have been killed and nine others injured when two vehicles collided head-on on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway in Balochistan.

According to Dawn, the accident occurred on Friday near the Drakhala Badrang area of Wadh town in Khuzdar district.

Police said the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when they collided, apparently due to speeding.

Khuzdar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dost Muhammad Dashti said four people, including two women, died at the scene, while nine others sustained injuries.

The deceased and the injured were shifted to the district hospital in Khuzdar, where hospital officials said four of the injured were in critical condition and had been referred to a higher-level medical facility for specialised treatment.

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash and urged motorists to observe traffic rules and avoid overspeeding.
