KABUL (Pajhwok): A shortage of air traffic controllers caused widespread flight cancellations and lengthy delays at Sydney Airport on Friday, The Guardian reported, citing Australian airlines.
Airlines said the disruption was caused by a shortage of air traffic control staff, affecting thousands of passengers.
Airservices Australia, the country’s air traffic management agency, confirmed the disruption and said it was working to reduce delays and restore normal flight operations.
Authorities advised passengers to check their flight status with their airlines before travelling to the airport.
