KABUL (Pajhwok): Seven people, including military personnel and civilians, have been killed and 30 others wounded in a missile and drone attack by the Houthis on the port city of Mokha on the Red Sea coast.

Reuters reported that the Yemeni army said in a statement that four members of the armed forces and three civilians were killed in the attack.

It said air defence systems had intercepted and shot down 11 Houthi drones involved in the attack.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said in a message on Telegram that gatherings of Saudi forces and weapons depots had been targeted in the attacks.

However, the Yemeni army said the Houthi attacks had targeted residential neighbourhoods and civilian facilities in Mokha in addition to military positions.

Mokha is one of Yemen’s important port cities on the Red Sea coast.
