KABUL (Pajhwok): The Disaster Management Preparedness Authority says a 500kg Russian bomb has been discovered and safely destroyed in Firoz Nakhchir district of northern Samangan province.

The authority said a technical team from the second rapid-response unit of the DAFA demining organisation was subsequently dispatched to the area. In coordination with the Samangan Disaster Management Preparedness Directorate, the team located and destroyed the unexploded ordnance.
According to the statement, an OFAB-500ShR type Russian bomb weighing 500kg was safely removed from the area and destroyed during the operation in Ozan village.
