Dr. Niyazi laid to rest in Wazir Akbar Khan Mosque

KABUL in capital Kabul after his death in a suicide attack.

The prominent cleric was killed and eight others injured in the blast inside the mosque on Tuesday evening. President Ashraf Ghani has ordered a multi-dimensional inquiry into Niyazi’s killing.

His funeral prayer was offered by Hajj as a huge loss for the country and termed him a moderate, peaceful and great religious scholar.

Waqif Hakimi, a lawmaker from Badakhshan province, termed the killing of Niyazi a huge loss and thanked all people who participated in funeral ceremony of the slain professor.

Niyazi held a doctorate degree in International Relations and had served as teacher at Kabul University and worked with the National Radio Television.
