Nangarhar shifts 150 addicts to Kabul for treatment

Oct 04, 2020 - 16:10

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): As many as 150 drug addicts have been shifted to capital Kabul from eastern Nangarhar province for treatment, the governor’s spokesman said on Sunday.

Attaullah Khogyani said the addicts were collected from various areas of the province and sifted to Kabulinfo-icon for a 45-day treatment.

He told Pajhwok Afghan News that police and counter-narcotics officials launched the campaign in cooperation of families of addicts.

Naqibullah, an addict, told Pajhwok that joblessness and poverty led to use drugs.

He said as long as he did not find a steady job, he would resume using drugs even if treated several times.
