LASHKARGAH (PAN): A policeman was killed and a child injured in a suicide bombing in the southern province of Helmand on Monday, officials said.
The blast took place at about 10am when the attacker detonated his explosive-laden motorcycle near a joint patrol of Afghan and foreign troops in Sangin district.
The governor’s spokesman, Daud Ahmadi, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a policeman and the attacker were killed.
As police intercepted the assailant for a search, he detonated his explosives, said the district police chief, Maj. Hajji Guli. A child was also injured in the explosion.
