Afghans workers with US troops injured in attack

PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): Six Afghans working for international troops in central Logar province were injured in a militant attack on Wednesday, police said.

The six were travelling in a bus when gunmen attacked them in the Khadir area on the outskirts of Pul-i-Alam, the provincial capital, police chief, Col. Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Laiwani, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

The injured were taken to the Logar Civil hospital, where doctors said they are in a stable condition.

The attackers on a motorcycle managed to flee, said the crime branch chief, Mohammad Jan Abid.

Separately, two rockets landed near a coalition base in the Oni Selan area, but there were no casualties, said the governor’s spokesman, Din Mohammad Darwaish.

A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said the fighters targeted a military camp of foreign troops, killing a number of soldiers.
