Wali’s death condoled with Karzai

KABUL): The US Secretary of State, the presidents of Russia and Tajikistan, and Pakistani politicians have extended condolences to President Hamid Karzai for the death of his younger brother, Ahmad Wali Karzai.

Wali Karzai was killed by his own guard at his home in southern Kandahar province on Tuesday.
 
Hillary Clinton,Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Tajik President Imam chief, Isfandyar Wali Khan, have extended their sympathies to the Afghan president, the presidential palace said Wednesday.
 
Clinton expressed her deep shock and grief over Wali’s death on her behalf and that of the American people.
 
Medvedev sent a letter to President Karzai, expressing his grief over Wali’s death. In his letter, Medvedev said Ahmad Wali Karzai was one of the most prominent and sensible politician in Afghanistan. Medvedev expressed his belief that Wali was killed for his efforts to bring peace and stability to Kandahar.
 
Imam Ali Rahman said the killing of Ahmad Wali Karzai was a huge loss to the Afghan nation.
 
In a telephone call, the Awami National Party leader Isfandiyar Wali Khan condemned the assassination as a cowardly act. He expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the death.
