Hamid Akram replaces Taqwa as Kabul governor

KABUL (Pajhwok): Hamid Akram has been appointed as new governor for Kabul province in line with recommendation from the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG).

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani had approved the gubernatorial appointment, the IDLG has said in a statement. Hamid Akram has received higher education and possesses experience in governance.

Earlier, Akram had served as head of protocol at the Presidential Palace. The IDLG expressed gratitude to Abdul Jabbar Taqwa and Mahbubullah Mohibi, acting governor.
