KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Three civilians were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in struck a roadside bomb in the Mianishin district of southern Kandahar province, an official said on Tuesday.
The roadside bomb explosion took place late on Monday on the Miani road in Gilgan area, the district’s administrative chief, Rozi Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He blamed the “enemies of peace” — a euphemism that Afghan officials frequently use for the Taliban — for planting the roadside bombs, which often kill ordinary citizens.
A woman, her daughter and a boy were killed and a10-year-old boy escaped unhurt, the district chief said. There was no immediate comment from the Taliban on the incident.
