<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a>): Four Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and five militants have been killed and nine rebels detained over the past 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.</p>

<p>The four troops were lost to separate roadside bombings in Logar, Herat, Maidan Wardak and Helmand provinces during the period, the Ministry of Defence said, providing no further details.</p>
<p>Two militants, planting roadside bombs, were killed as a result of a <a href="/en/nato" class="glossify-link">NATO</a> airstrike in southern Ghazni province on Saturday night. The airstrike took place in Arzu village on the outskirts of Ghazni City, said the governor’s secretary, Nabi Jan.</p>
<p>He added another three insurgents were killed during a clash with Afghan Local Police personnel in the Qarabagh district on Saturday. The clash erupted after the fighters attacked a local police post in Niazi area.</p>
<p>Also in Ghazni, eight fighters loyal to <a href="/en/taliban" class="glossify-link">Taliban</a>) agents, the provincial intelligence department said in a statement.</p>
<p>Separately, a <a href="/en/haqqani-network" class="glossify-link">Haqqani Network</a> commander named Mirwais was arrested by security forces in Zarghon Khar area of Mohammad Agha district of central Logar province, the governor’s spokesman, Din Mohammad Darwesh, said.</p>
