The bombing happened in the Bazidkhel area on the outskirts of Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, DawnNews quoted a senior police officer as saying.
Additional Inspector General (AIG) Shafqat Malik said that five kilograms of explosives were used in the blast.
A spokesman for Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital confirmed receiving seven bodies and 11 injured people from the explosion site. Some of the injured are in critical condition.
“The bomb was planted in a water cooler on the (Kohat-bound) bus,” SSP Operations Najeebur Rehman told the TV channel Express News. Mostly students are said to be among the fatalities.
