Drug traffickers detained at Kabul airport

KABUL (Pajhwok): Four drug smugglers were detained at the Kabul airport while a third individual was arrested on robbery charges in the capital on Wednesday, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.

A statement from MoI said the four smugglers were detained with two kilograms of heroin they wanted to smuggle to foreign countries.

The detainees are Afghan nationals who concealed the drugs in capsules in their stomachs.

Kabul police arrested a notorious armed robber who was involved in several cases in the capital. The detainees were currently under investigation, the statement said.
